Headphones, Heels & Holding On

(My First Blog Post in Years—Because Showing Up Still Matters)

Today, I got a rejection.

The kind that makes you sit a little longer.

Think a little deeper.

And fight the urge to give up—again.

It stung. I won’t lie.

But instead of retreating, I wrote.

It’s been years since I’ve written a blog post, but something about this moment felt like a gentle push back into something I love. And maybe, that’s the win I needed today.

The pictures you see here were from a quiet afternoon.

No big event. No major reason to dress up.

Just me—warm knit dress, scarf wrapped snug, headphones in, heading nowhere fancy but walking with intention.

Someone passing by said, “You look like you’re going somewhere important.”

I smiled. Because even though I wasn’t, I was.

That line stuck with me.

Because sometimes, we don’t need a crowd or a big win to walk purposefully.

We just need the courage to keep showing up—even when it feels like no one sees us.

So if you’re reading this and you’re a little heartbroken too…

If you’re tired of trying or wondering if it’s worth it…

Please know this:

You’re still going somewhere important.

Even if you’re walking slowly. Even if today hurt.

This blog post may not change the world—but writing it changed my today.

And if it helps change yours too, then maybe that rejection wasn’t a loss after all.

Welcome back. To you. To me. To hope.
